A young Japanese influencer with over 25,000 followers on Twitter has recently revealed her secret - she's actually a 50-year-old man using a filter.

Azusagakuyuki, also known as Souya no sōhi, regularly posts pictures of motoring adventures and trips to restaurants, much to the envy of her followers.

Some of her followers began to suspect there might be something strange about her when they spotted her reflection in a rearview mirror, according to Gizmodo.

The Japanese TV show Monday Late Show then tracked down the influencer, who revealed he began posting filtered photos on Twitter as a woman when he realized he wasn't getting enough likes as a man, HiNet reported.

However, his followers don't seem to mind the little deception at play.

Many leaped to his defense in response to comments that he is "fake," saying, "Everybody knows but no one cares."
